Mashing

Taking photos is harder then you think. This photo is okay, on the bottom. ISO 200, 1/125, f9. At first, I kept releasing the button after I declared the subject.

Later I realized that my father was holding the button down. I also struggled with not capturing the road. I have a tendency to mash or move while taking these photos. The photo on the top, is better. If you zoom in you will see I was moving less then on the bottom photo. ISO 200, 1/160, f11.

  3. Hi Leah and welcome to the world of photography....I am sure you will do fine, you have a wonderful teacher!
I have been a follower and fan of your dad's photography for a while now.
Hmmm, where have I seen this tree before?
Mash and move....sounds like a song. Yes, I can see the top photo is better.....this is why a photographer will take A LOT of shots of one subject....just to get the perfect shot!

Have fun and enjoy....I will be back to see your progress.

  7. I agree that taking a shot is harder than how it looked. I would like to commend your photo here. First glance and it captured my eye. So lovely. I say you are a natural photographer.

  9. I came over from your dad's blog. This is perfect because maybe I can learn something along the way with you. You're lucky to have a good photographer to teach you the ropes.

  10. I love shots of trees, esp. one just like this one. The tree shows such endurance to over come all the weather and "civilization intrusion". Like a trophy of nature!

  11. I have noticed I shake when photographing... that is not good. Steady hands are great! but I work with what I have.

I like photos of trees. Artwork all by themselves.
